The intake with the SACEM is not obligatory, but it appears in practice essential for the editors.
To adhere to the SACEM, it is essential to be able to make state of a beginning of dissemination of works. Indeed, in addition to the parts related with the legal existence of the society of edition (statutes, K (a) etc…), the SACEM asks that be joined to the file of intake the commercial formats of ten not original works accompanied by the contracts of divestment and edition of musical work and by the bulletins of statement corresponding to these ten works, as well as the justification of the commercial exploitation of these works (public execution, booking on a sound record or a videogram, radio broadcast…).
Once the complete records, it are submitted to the Board of directors of the SACEM which statute on the application.
